| 06/16/2014 Missing Amtrak Passenger Found in Iron County, Missouri |

Approximately 7 am Sunday, June 15, 2014, the Iron County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by Amtrak, they were missing a female passenger and believe she went missing somewhere between Desoto and Poplar Bluff, Missouri. At approximately 2:30 pm Sunday afternoon, two kids were walking up the tracks, located behind their house, and discovered a female lying next to the tracks. The kids contacted a parent, who notified the ambulance and Sheriff’s Office. Upon their arrival, they found a female lying next to the tracks. After talking with her, she appeared to have a leg injury and very disoriented. She was taken by ambulance to the Annapolis Helipad and flown to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, Mo. At present no criminal activity is suspected, but the Iron County Sheriff’s Office and Amtrak Police are continuing to investigate the incident. |
